Northwest Dance and Acro offers a variety of classes for students ages 3 to adult.  Below is a description of the types of classes we offer.  If you have additional questions, we would be happy to answer all of your questions.

Preschool Combo (ballet, jazz, acro) Ages 3-4

Class Descriptions

This class is designed to maintain the attention span of a preschooler while introducing basic ballet and jazz steps and terminology.  This class also includes some beginner acrobatics.  The instructors use variety to keep your child interested and actively engaged during class.  It is a fun way to introduce your child to the world of dance.  Classes are one hour long and taught by our recreational teachers. 

This class introduces your child to a variety of dance technique and terminology.  The combo could include ballet, jazz, acro, or tap. It is designed to expose beginners to the world of dance.  The instructors use variety to keep your child interested and actively engaged during class.  Classes are one hour long and taught by our recreational teachers. 

Kinder Combo (ballet, jazz, acro) Ages 4-5

$50/one hour/week

This class is designed for both mini and beginning levels (Ages 5-7).  This class was created for beginning students who are not quite ready for the formal ballet technique class.  It has a mixture of bar work, floor combinations and ballet choreography.  It is a little more relaxed class and a good introduction to ballet technique and terminology.  This is a one hour class and could be taught by our recreational teachers or our ballet teacher.

Beginning Ballet  (Ages 5-7)

Ballet Choreography— Level I    (Ages 7-10)     (required Ballet Tech I)

$20/one half hour/week

This class is only a half hour long and focuses on the choreography of a ballet combinations and dance.  You must take the Ballet Tech Level I class in order to participate in this class.  This class is a mixture of both recreational and competitive dancers.  This is a nice way to offer a recital class in ballet as an optional addition and allows the ballet tech class to focus on technique.

This is the first formal ballet class.  Proper ballet technique is the focus.   This is a one hour class designed specifically to learn proper ballet technique.   Most students will have a little ballet exposure before this class.  This class is a mixture of both recreational and competitive dancers.  This technique class is open for registration all year because it is not a recital class.  The recital class for Ballet Level I is the class that follows this one on the schedule called Ballet Choreography Level I.
