NWDA strives to offer classes that are creative, challenging, and age-appropriate for every dancer. Whether your child is just beginning or looking to grow their technique, we have something for every level and style. Our instructors focus on building confidence, strength, and a love of movement in a fun and supportive environment. With a wide variety of classes, dancers can explore their passion and reach their full potential.
We’re excited to welcome new dancers to Northwest Dance and Acro! All first-time students are invited to take one free trial class in any of our recreational programs.

Whether you're a current NWDA dancer or looking to try out a recreational or competition-level technique class, drop-in classes are available for $18 each.

Acro
Acro blends dance technique with acrobatic elements. It focuses on strength, flexibility, balance, and control while seamlessly weaving skills like handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, and tumbling into choreography. The style creates a dynamic mix of dance and gymnastics, building both athleticism and artistry.
aerial silks
Aerial Silks is a performance art where dancers climb, wrap, and drop using long fabric suspended from the ceiling. It combines strength, flexibility, and creativity as performers use the silks to execute climbs, poses, and dramatic drops that look both powerful and graceful. It’s a mix of athleticism and artistry that makes it feel like dancing in the air!
ballet
Ballet is a classical style of dance known for its grace, precision, and discipline. It builds strong technique, posture, and musicality while teaching dancers how to move with elegance and control. Ballet is the foundation of many other dance styles, helping dancers improve strength, flexibility, and artistry.
combo
Combo Class gives dancers the chance to learn and experience different styles of dance in one class. It’s a great way to build versatility, improve technique, and explore different forms of movement, all while keeping class dynamic and engaging.
Creative Movement
Creative Movement introduces young dancers to the joy of dance through imagination, play, and simple movement concepts. Dancers build coordination, rhythm, and creativity while learning to express themselves through movement in a playful and supportive environment.
Disney Princess
Disney Princess class is a magical introduction to dance where little ones get to explore ballet and creative movement while stepping into the world of their favorite princesses. With scarves, crowns, and Disney music, dancers learn ballet basics, skips, and gallops, all while using imagination in themed activities.

Free to be 3 is a playful introduction to dance designed especially for three-year-olds. Through creative play, tempo games, and simple across-the-floor movements, dancers learn to march, tiptoe, skip, and chasse all while having fun and celebrating every accomplishment with lots of encouragement.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a fun, high-energy class where dancers of all levels can learn rhythm, footwork, and dynamic movement. Classes focus on building coordination, strength, and musicality through upbeat choreography and freestyle elements. Hip Hop encourages confidence, creativity, and personal style.
Jazz
Jazz is an upbeat and expressive dance style that blends technique with performance. Dancers work on strength, flexibility, and precision while learning turns, leaps, and stylized choreography set to energetic music. Jazz is a versatile style that builds both technical skill and stage presence, making it a favorite for dancers of all levels.
leaps & Turns
Leaps & Turns is a technique-focused class designed to help dancers strengthen and refine their jumps, leaps, and turns. Dancers work on proper alignment, balance, and control while building power, flexibility, and consistency. This class is perfect for improving overall technique and developing the skills that bring their dancing to the next level.
lines & Extensions
Lines & Extensions focuses on developing strength, control, and flexibility to create long, clean lines and high leg extensions. Dancers work on placement, core stability, and technique drills that improve balance, turnout, and overall body awareness. This class is designed to refine a dancer’s artistry and elevate their performance quality across all styles.

tumbling
