Performing at Nationals is something our competitive dancers look forward to all year long. Taking place during the height of summer, it's an incredibly exciting time, the culmination of all of the previous year's hard work jam-packed into one intense week of performances. It's a chance for our dancers to exhibit their passion, dedication, and technical progress, a time to really leave it all on the stage. It's also a perfect time to bond with friends outside of the studio and a fantastic opportunity to make brand new ones within the dance community.
NWDA had a wonderful time this year at Spotlight Dance Cup's Pacific Northwest Finals in Seaside, Oregon. NWDA dancers Charlotte Weseman, Isabella Spidell, and Abigail Hau were awarded top Diamond placement for petite, junior, and teen solos, as well as top Diamond placement to Lauren Doherty and Paige Tift for the 11 and under and 12 and up Future Gems solo categories. Abigail Hau was chosen as this year's Teen Miss Spotlight, and we also had several dancers chosen as runners up in their respective categories. Many of our other routines did exceptionally well, also, with several top 4 placements and category winners as well as our Broadway Babies team, Petite Lyrical team, and Teen Trio taking home the top Diamond awards at the Championship Finals. The studio also received the Petite and Teen Triple Crown awards, the 20th Anniversary Ultimate Diamond Giveaway, and the Studio Spirit award! We are so proud of all of our dancers who participated in this year's nationals and so grateful to have such a positive and supportive network of families.
To sum the exceptional week up: Our dancers danced, friends cheered, families came together, and beautiful memories were made by all, and we can't wait for next year so we can do it all over again!
